The objective of the International Symposium on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) 2025 with the theme "Bridging Evidence to Policy: Health Technology Assessment for Affordable Healthcare" is to showcase the significant impact of Health Technology Evidence in facilitating affordable healthcare in India.

  • To elucidate the impact of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in India in
  • a) promoting evidence-based policymaking.
    b) supporting innovative technologies and.
    c) encouraging value-based pricing for efficient resource allocation towards achieving
    affordable healthcare systems.
  • To facilitate dialogue on the adoption of HTA recommendations and capacity building to strengthen healthcare decision-making in countries of the Global South.
  • To enable a knowledge forum for strengthening the methodological advancements in HTA for encompassing comprehensive and robust practices.
  • To provide a collaborative platform for national stakeholders to build strategic partnerships, and catalyze joint initiatives aimed at enhancing cost-effectiveness in healthcare.

The Symposium be a 2-day event featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, poster sessions, and networking opportunities. Participants will have the chance to engage in interdisciplinary discussions, share insights, and collaborate on innovative solutions to enhance the safety, equity, and quality aspects of HTA

The inaugural session of the International Symposium on Health Technology Assessment (ISHTA) 2025, - "Bridging Evidence to Policy: Health Technology Assessment for Affordable Healthcare" commenced with a strong emphasis on leveraging evidence-based decision-making to enhance healthcare affordability and accessibility. Smt. Anu Nagar, Joint Secretary, Department of Health Research, initiated the session with a warm welcome to all distinguished guests and participants. Sh. Jagat Prakash Nadda, Hon'ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India was the Chief Guest for the event. Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Delhi NCR, Prof. Vinod Kumar Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, DHR and DG ICMR, Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary (H&FW), Shri. Amit Agarwal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals attended the inaugural session successfully setting stage for a productive and insightful symposium. The addresses by the distinguished speakers underscored the critical role of HTA in achieving affordable healthcare and highlighted the need for continued collaboration and knowledge sharing. The symposium is expected to foster meaningful discussions and contribute to the development of evidence-based policies that improve health outcomes for all.
